The porcelain is kiln fired to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, permanently fusing the text and crowns to the porcelain, making this set very durable and wear resistant (please hand wash - the crowns are more delicate since they are real gold). Not recommended for the microwave due to the gold content.
This tea set will stay beautiful for years to come, it is very durable and 100% food safe. The border is a scrolled raised gold with pink, blue or green accents.
